Statkraft proposes offshore cable with 50-50 capacity between Norway and foreign markets

To ensure that electricity generated at Norway's first North Sea offshore wind farm isn't directed solely to either Norway or foreign markets, Statkraft suggests hybrid cables that are only able to transmit half of the power in each direction.

Last week, the Norwegian government presented a long awaited offshore wind plan, which will start off by ensuring two times 1.5GW from the Sørlige Nordsjø 2 project – at first only with a connector to Norway.
