Siemens Energy chair reportedly mulling wind business' future

Siemens Energy Chair Joe Kaeser is rumored considering spinning off Siemens Gamesa from the parent company – or even selling off Gamsa assets, reports German media Manager Magazin without mentioning information source, reports Bloomberg News.
In late January, Reuters also relayed speculation about Siemens Energy exploring a full integration of the wind turbine business after a downgrade and share price detour south only days prior revealed insufficiencies in the current ownership structure.
Siemens Energy now holds 67-percent interest in German-Spanish Siemens Gamesa.
Rumors of Siemens Energy's interest in buying the remaining shares in the Spanish part of the OEM have been circulating since May.
Siemens Gamesa, established in 2017 to improve the constituent companies' competitiveness in the rapidly growing wind turbine market, is facing supply chain problems as well as higher-than-expected costs tied to a new production line within the OEM's onshore division.
Thursday ahead of noon, the wind turbine manufacturer's equity is down by 0.9 percent to EUR 16.84 a share on the Madrid stock exchange. In Frankfurt, Siemens Energy's stock is up by 1.3 percent to EUR 21.35.
