Report: Wind industry in for higher costs due to "perverse" market design

Current wind auctions encourage a ”race to the bottom”, pressuring all links of the wind energy supply chain. Global Energy Wind Council sounds a note of caution in the most recent 2022 Global Wind Report.

Wind energy is in high demand in these years. To reach the green transition's finish line, the renewable energy source has become the response to a fossil energy challenge many nations are scrambling to solve.

High demand has to a large extent created a situation that isn’t always favorable for sector players. Global Energy Wind Council is now calling into question the market design and solicitation schemes which are subject to scathing criticism.
