Nexans' H1 earnings surpass expectations

The French cable maker exceeds analysts' forecast for the first half of the year.

Nexans closes accounts for the first half of the year faring better than consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg News.

Earnings before interest and taxes in H1 total EUR 263m against the outlook to EUR 191.5m.

Before depreciations and amortizations, the operating result comes to EUR 308m relative to EUR 274.5m estimated by analysts.

EBITDA at the same time last year was booked at EUR 222m.

Half-year revenue totals EUR 4.342bn against a single analyst's forecast of EUR 4.156bn, with the H1 top line from last year coming to EUR 3.735bn.
