California offshore wind site greenlit to build following review

BOEM finds no significant impacts at the Morro Bay area that could form the basis of 3GW of offshore wind energy as part of California’s energy plans. However, a leasing round has yet to be held.

US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has just completed its environmental analysis of Morro Bay Wind Energy Area off the coast of California, finding no ”significant impacts”, thus paving the way for the next surveys at the site, the authority informs in a press release.
