Vestas has received an order from Apex Clean Energy to supply 300MW to a project in the US, the OEM informs in a statement Wednesday.

The contract entails 50 model V162-62MW units for deployment at the Goose Creek Wind project in the state of Illinois, with the deal including delivery and commissioning as well as 10-year service agreement.

”[We’re] thrilled to partner with Apex Clean Energy on the Goose Creek Wind farm in Illinois, bringing the state closer to reaching its goal of 100 percent clean energy by 2050”, says Vestas North America President Laura Beane in the company announcement.

Vestas informs that the development will provide 400 jobs during establishment phase, eight long-term staff positions, and roughly USD 200m in state tax revenue and land rents in the Illinois.
