Siemens Gamesa and Uhre Wind’s test facility involving hydrogen production from wind power in Brande could grow even bigger in the future. At any rate, the partners seek to expand the grounds by 1,300m2 in order to make room for a new electrolyzer unit, reports Danish media Horsens Folkeblad.

This will allow parties to examine how a turbine and an electrolyzer behave absent direct connection to the electrical grid. However, extending the test facility requires an exemption from the district plan and a land zone permit.

The project already consists of a 3MW turbine, and first hydrogen from the project was delivered to Everfuel at the end of 2021, after which the H2 was distributed to filling stations.
