NKT is ready to design, produce and install a low-voltage cable made of low-carbon aluminum and polyolefins as a part of efforts to achieve net-zero emissions, the Danish cable manufacturer informs in a press release Wednesday.

The cable technology is being co-developed with Swedish distribution system operator Ellevio, which will also be NKT’s first customer for the new product.

”This is a game changer in the development of an energy infrastructure built with innovative, low-carbon solutions,” writes Will Hendrikx, NKT executive vice president and head of Applications:

”We see a growing market demand for more environmentally friendly products and solutions and are proud to be among the first to deliver an innovative low voltage cable after a close collaboration with our customers and suppliers.”
