A turbine has collapsed while Lithuanian wind farm Akmene is being established

Media Renews reports that an incident investigation has been initiated according to Enefit Green Lithuanian country manager Donatas Celesius, who is responsible for the upcoming wind farm with a 76MW planned capacity.

”The reasons behind the incident are under investigation. We are cooperating with all the authorities looking into the matter,” says Celesius, continuing:

”Also, Enefit Green is conducting an internal review with the turbine supplier to identify any possible risks or factors that could be taken into consideration and prevent such accidents in the future.”

The turbine in question was made by US manufacturer GE, which states that no one was harmed in connection with the collapse. The turbine maker is working closely with Enefit Green to establish the root cause.

The 13 remaining turbines have been put on pause for the time being due to the incident.
