Vesterhav Syd and Nord at risk of missing the deadline

Problems with cable burial are delaying the offshore wind farms in western Jutland. Subsidies may be affected, admits Vattenfall, which has no more people to put on the job.

Denmark’s next two offshore wind farms are in danger of being further delayed. According to Vattenfall’s concession agreement with the Danish authorities, the two coastal projects must be connected to the grid by Dec. 31 at the latest. But problems with digging the export cables to shore deep enough have put that deadline under pressure.
