Energy has been exported from Wollongong for decades. However, it has been energy in its most basic, old-fashioned, and environmentally damaging form that has been shipped out of the Australian port city so far. Within the next few years, coal could face competition from something close to its polar opposite in the form of advanced, modern, green hydrogen technology.
