Ørsted forced to fully purchase collapsed project

Just a few months ago, Ørsted paid its partner billions for its stake in the now-defunct Ocean Wind. But the deal was not made ”with our heads in the clouds”, says the Ørsted CEO.

An outrageous DKK 19.9bn (USD 2.82bn). That’s how much of a write-down Ørsted took on Wednesday for scrapping the Ocean Wind 1 offshore wind project in New Jersey - an amount that could very well grow by further billions when contracts already signed with suppliers are renegotiated.
