European Energy gets green light for solar farm in Italy
European Energy can begin construction of a 90MW solar farm in the Italian region of Puglia.
This is clear after the Danish developer has received approval for the project from the Italian authorities through its Italian subsidiary Cerano Energreen, European Energy writes in a press release.
The upcoming solar farm will produce electricity equivalent to the consumption of 55,000 households. European Energy states that the size of the project is not significant, but the location in southeastern Italy is.
”This project underscores our dedication to fostering collaborations with the local supply chain and rejuvenation programs in Italy. To meet the EU’s 2030 targets, we need state-of-the-art plants like Cerano that not only replace fossil-based energy but also pave the way for a sustainable energy transition,” says Alessandro Migliorini, Director and Country Manager Italy of European Energy.
As part of the initiative, a large area of 35 hectares will be set aside for reforestation.
