GE bags billion-dollar Australian order

An Australian billionaire has entered into a ”strategic alliance” with the US turbine manufacturer, initially to supply turbines for 414 MW project. Follow-ups of more than a gigawatt are lined up.

An order for 414 MW is nothing to sneeze at. However, for GE in Australia, it is just the beginning, as ground was broken on Thursday for the Uungula wind farm in New South Wales, which will consist of 69 turbines from the US’s 6 MW Cypress platform.
