Germany expects another offshore bidding war

Bidders on 2.5GW of offshore wind in the North Sea will battle it out to see who will pay the most to the state, the German energy agency predicts.

Project developers may once again have to dig deep into their pockets to build offshore wind in Germany. The German energy agency, Bundesnetzagentur, launched the tender for the next 2.5GW on Monday, and just like the previous tender, it is open for negative bids - bids where developers will have to fight over who will pay the most for the seabed.
