Nordex has received a large order in South Africa for 295 megawatts (MW) from EDF Renewables.

The order is for 50 N163/5.X wind turbines to be delivered to the Korosun 2 wind farm and a 20-year service contract.

Lars Hytting, Head of Equity Trading at Artha Kapitalforvaltning, points out that Vestas’ first quarter order intake disappointed.

”While the Danish company hasn’t gotten a break in Q2, Nordex seems to have good momentum. This morning an order for 295 MW has come in, this time for South Africa, and thus Nordex already has two nice orders this quarter,” he writes in a comment.

Vestas’ share price rose by 1.9% on Monday, while Nordex dropped by 0.1%.
