Ørsted divests half of new acquisition

French onshore solar and wind are not relevant in Ørsted’s scaled-down business, according to the energy company, which is selling part of the business to Engie.

It’s only seven months since Ørsted finally took over onshore developer Ostwind. But now the Danish energy company has sold a large part of the business to French Engie. The divestment, for an undisclosed price, comes as a result of the lower ambitions announced in February, which cut up to 15 GW from the 2030 build-out target.
