Siemens Gamesa maintains "India is fundamentally interesting" despite divestment rumors

A ”final decision has not yet been made”, the turbine manufacturer states as rumors of a billion-dollar sale of the business in a former key market swirl.

A divestment of one of Siemens Gamesa’s former key markets may be imminent. On Friday, Indian business newspaper Mint quoted two unnamed sources as saying that the turbine manufacturer’s Indian business was up for sale for around USD 1bn. According to the sources, Indian conglomerate Adani was a possible buyer, while Masdar, Macquarie and Brookfield Energy were also in play.
