
Italy had, until now, not invested in a single offshore wind turbine.
But that is about to change. Shortly before the new year, Italian energy agency, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), put out a tender for 870 MW of renewable energy projects. 30 MW of this was reserved for offshore wind, with the remainder directed at biomass, solar, and onshore.
