
The EU is prepared to green-light the merger between Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa, two anonymous sources with knowledge of the matter tell Reuters.
In that case, only 11 days remain until the largest merger in the history of the wind turbine industry will take place, as the EU approval is the only remaining hurdle stopping the merger from officially beginning. The EU Commission's competition authority, DG Competition, has set the deadline for its first processing of the case to March 13. The merger has already gained approval from the authorities in the US, China, and India.
