
With the push of a button, the world's biggest synthetic sun was turned on in Germany on Thursday. The plan is to use the sun to produce green fuel for transport purposes.
The synthetic sun, developed by Deutsches Zentrum für Luft -und Raumfahrt, DLR, consists of 140 Xenon short arch lights. In comparison, a cinema screen is lighted by a single Xenon light.
