Danish firm pulls in Iberdrola for US venture

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is entering a partnership to fight Danish rival Dong Energy for the coming 1.6 GW offshore wind tender in Massachusetts.

Iberdrola is arming itself for the battle for the coming American offshore wind market. Via its US subsidiary Avangrid, the Spanish energy company has bought into Copenhagen Infrastructure Partner's (CIP) project Vineyard Wind. With the deal, the two partners each own half of the 675 km2 area beyond the coast of Massachusetts, announced the two parties.
