Vestas' Brazilian investments could be struck by weak market

The Brazilian wind market, where Vestas has made large-scale investments, has been weakened by political instability and a prolonged economic downturn.

Vestas has invested strongly in the Brazilian market, which the industry singled out as a major growth market for wind energy just a few years ago.

However, political instability and a prolonged downturn for the Brazilian economy has cast shadows across the market, and consultancy firm Make Consulting has forecast a sharp decline in wind turbine installations in the country from 2019.
