German company nabs deal on Australia's largest wind project yet
Various new projects ranging from 429 MW to 1,000 MW are battling to become the biggest wind farms in Australia. They indicate that the hitherto still Australian wind market is poised to gain momentum.
German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has entered a deal for the Murra Warra project, which has the potential to become the largest in Australia. With 116 turbines and a capacity of 429 MW, the farm is 9 MW larger than Vestas' MacArthur farm, which since 2013 has enjoyed the title of the largest wind farm in the Southern Hemisphere.
