The series of undersea cables between Europe and the UK might soon be joined by yet another. Although this cable would be considerably different than existing types. The Swedish energy company Vattenfall is cooperating with German-Dutch system operator TenneT to explore the technical possibilities, regulative challenges and economic advantages of running an undersea cable from the designated offshore wind farm site IJmuiden Ver to one of Vattenfall's own transformer stations in the UK. The project will be named "Wind Connector".
