Vattenfall buys energy trader

The Swedish energy company continues to strengthen its position in the Netherlands with the acquisition of a company servicing 170,000 electricity and gas customers.

Vattenfall is expanding its customer portfolio in the Netherlands with 170,000 new customers through the purchase of DELTA Energie, which sells electricity from wind turbines and biomass-fired plants as well as purveying gas to private customers and smaller companies especially in the southern region of the country, Zeeland. The price of the transaction, which must be approved by Dutch authorities before entering force, has not yet been disclosed, informs Vattenfall in statement.
