Shell Energy Retail exceeded UK price cap

According to the UK's Ofgem, Shell Energy Retail has overcharged about 12,000 customers with bills exceeding the new price cap which took effect this year. The company is now refunding the money.

Oil major Shell's UK-based Shell Energy Retail is to provide refunds to about 12,000 consumers, who were overcharged following the UK electricity price cap entering force on Jan. 1, 2019, rules the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem).
