Expensive CO2 quotas bring Uniper to its knees

The German utility did not manage to rectify Q2 operations, which were halved during H1 2019. The company itself points to factors including higher prices on CO2 quotas.

2019 has proven to be a difficult year for German utility Uniper's operating income, which does not at all keep pace with that of previous quarters, according to the company's interim report on the second quarter.
