Statkraft signs Polish PPA

A Polish steelmaker enters a ten-year deal with the utility to cover one fifth of its consumption.

Several European steelmakers have announced their ambitions to make their production greener in recent years. Even though the most noteworthy items in this regard have concerned pilot projects incorporating hydrogen into the manufacturing process, the feat can also be achieved in a more conventional sense. For instance, Polish metal and steel producer CMC Poland has now entered a power purchase agreement with Norwegian utility Statkraft, the latter informs in a press statement.
