Fortum examines nuclear plant's retirement age

The Finnish utility has launched an environmental impact assessment of nuclear power plant Loviisa to ascertain whether it can remain in operation on its current license until 2027 and 2030.

Finnish power company Fortum would like to see each of its two 507 MW reactors at the Loviisa nuclear power plant get lifecycle extensions and has thus initiated an environmental impact assessment.
