Ørsted to invest EUR 47bn ahead of 2027

CEO Mads Nipper ups the utility's goal to a quadrupling of the installed capacity to 50 GW by 2030. The market leadership position in offshore wind is set to be supplemented by a spot among the top ten onshore players.

Ørsted upgrades its strategy markedly ahead of the company's capital markets day. The utility now expects to achieve an installed capacity of approximately 50 GW by 2030 against the current 12 GW. This will expectedly require an investment around DKK 350bn (EUR 47bn) during the period 2020-2027 – a 50-percent increase from the target presented during the previous capital markets day.
