Iberdrola's CEO under investigation for alleged spying

Spain's supreme court has ordered the investigation of the Ignacio Galan and three other Iberdrola executives for charges of spying, bribery, privacy violation and document forgery.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of Spain initiated an investigation into Iberdrola Chief Executive Ignacio Galan as a part of spying case spanning 2004-2017. At the behest of anti-corruption prosecutors, the court will probe the CEO's role in paying former police chief José Manuel Villarejo to spy on behalf of the power company, several media including El Pais are reporting.
