Turbulent energy market pressures Vattenfall

The Swedish utility’s profit declines markedly despite advancing on the top line during the second quarter. The company reports still being affected by network congestion.

Yesterday, Norwegian utility Statkraft presented a deficit for the second quarter of 2022 due to high energy prices. Vattenfall, however, fared better but still notes a slight decline in profit.

High electricity prices also factored into the Swedish power company’s accounts, showing revenue growing roughly by SEK 13.6bn to SEK 48.1bn during this year’s second quarter.
