Classification firm opens in the US

Prospects of multiple gigawatts in the coming decade prompt DNV GL to establish a Massachusetts office.

Seeing as the vast majority of US offshore wind projects will be established in federal waters, they will require certification by a third party. This pertains to the design, production as well as installation of wind farms, which is now making DNV GL settle across the Atlantic. The classification bureau will thus establish an office in Medford, Massachusetts, DNV GL announces.
