Vestas predicts "tension" with offshore wind contracts

The turbine maker sees itself as part of the ongoing triangular drama over offshore wind prices and terms. In this light, company CEO is pleased that Vestas arrived late to the party.

An agreement is not binding until the ink on the contract is dry. Vestas knows full well that this fact also applies to offshore wind. After several years as preferred supplier on the US Vineyard Wind project, the developers, CIP and Avangrid, gave the final order to GE in 2020, leaving the Danish OEM ton continue on as a small player in the offshore wind market.
