Fortum aims for increased biomass use

Finnish energy group Fortum aims to utilize waste products from the paper, clothing and agricultural industries for district heating.

Finnish Fortum hopes to be able to better utilize bio-based raw materials that are part of the production of, for example, paper and agricultural products, in the future. Therefore, the company has initiated a development project, where waste products from the agricultural and forestry industry will be used to create raw materials based on biomass, informs Fortum in a press release.
