Ineos plans to send biogas plant CO2 to North Sea storage

The British oil company and partners want to capture 100,000 tonnes of CO2 emitted from biogas production from 2024 or 2025, to then store the gas in depleted North Sea fuel reservoirs. An efficient and fast way to advance Project Greensand, says country manager.

Denmark now has it first value chain partnership in place targeting real capture and storage of CO2 emissions, with involved players including Ineos, Wintershall Dea, the Port of Hirtshals, Biocarb Solution, Evida, Blue Water Shipping and Greenport North.
