US oil reserves dropped significantly last week
US crude oil reserves fell by 12.2 million barrels in the past week, according to a statement from the US Department of Energy on Wednesday afternoon.
This was a larger drop than what economists had expected, as they had expected a drop of 0.4 million barrels, according to Bloomberg.
For gasoline stocks, there was a decrease of 2.2 million barrels. Here, a minus of 0.6 million barrels was expected.
