Danish contractor fined for bribery to win power plant project

The case concerns Burmeister & Wain Contractor A/S, which bribed government officials in Mauritius.

The construction company Burmeister & Wain Contractor A/S (BWSC) has been fined DKK 10m (EUR 1.3m) by the court in the Danish city of Hillerød for bribing officials in Mauritius. The bribery took place in connection with the construction of the power plant ”Saint Louis”, according to an announcement from the Danish National Special Crime Unit.
