German election year expected to see highest emission surge since 1990

With an estimated 47 tonnes of CO2 equivalents, Germany is expected to see its largest increase in emissions since the international reference year of 1990, show calculations made by Berlin think tank Agora Energiewende based on data gathered in the first half of the year.
