India aims to tender off 100 GW solar and wind by 2020

Indian authorities are optimistic about the "conservative" target of 175 GW of renewable energy in 2022 and are now launching a wind auction of 2 GW.

India's development of wind power needs to get back on track. The government has launched a 2-GW auction of wind projects which are expected to be installed by the end of 2019, while upwards of 4 more GW will be auctioned off by the beginning of the next Indian calendar year on April 1. This will take place in an auction of 1.5-2 GW in January followed by a corresponding auction in March, announces the Indian government.
