Indian wind auction just a smidgen over record price

Siemens Gamesa wins a contract for a preliminary 120 MW after an Indian tender of 2 GW where the CEO is pleased that there is a sign of stabilizing prices.

India has selected the winners of the country's first national auction of 2 GW wind.

Torrent Power, Renew Power, Green Infra and Inox Wind won projects for 500, 400, 300 and 200 MW with bids of INR 2.44 /kWh (approximately USD 0.038/kWh), while Alfanar, Adani Green and Betam Power won 300, 250 and 50 MW for INR 2.45/kWh, reports analyst agency Mercom India.
