Siemens Gamesa awards local contracts in Taiwan

The wind turbine manufacturer has awarded the first round of contracts to local actors for the supply of components and core materials for two offshore wind farms. A defining moment, says CEO.

Siemens Gamesa has awarded its first contracts for locally produced content to be used for offshore wind projects in Taiwan. For the second phase of the Formosa 1 wind farm, chemical producer Swancor – which is also the project's co-developer – will supply resin for 60 turbine blades. Siemens Gamesa's frequent supplier of turbine towers, CS Wind, in cooperation with Taiwanese Chin Fong Machine Industries, will produce 80 towers for wpd's Yunlin project, writes Siemens Gamesa in a press statement.
