Scotland wants to introduce local content requirements for offshore wind

The Scottish government is planning to have 10 GW of offshore wind capacity installed ahead of 2030 – but local jobs should also result, says minister following "recent disappointments".

One of the world's largest new markets for offshore wind is quite close to the current global build-out leader. Indeed, so close that the two are, technically, once and the same. However, due to a protracted legal case with an ornithological association, Scotland has only recently begun to follow along with the rest of the UK.
