Siemens Gamesa confirms half-GW order

An EDF-led consortium now formalizes its agreement with Siemens Gamesa for one of France's less-problematized offshore wind farms, of which GE also gets a bite despite having previously withdrawn itself as supplier.

Siemens Gamesa has now amassed roughly 1.5 GW in offshore wind capacity from France. The OEM has as planned taken in a contract to supply 64 of its tried-and-true model SWT-7.0154 units to EDF, WPD and Enbridge's project, Courseulles-sur-Mer, with an attached 15-year service agreement.
