Deep Wind Offshore: Norway needs offshore wind to maintain power surplus

The Norwegian company’s CEO says the country was too focused on oil and gas when offshore wind started to accelerate, but he also points out that the energy technology now took hold in earnest.

Deep Wind Offshore is one of several players investing money in the plans to develop offshore wind on the Norwegian continental shelf. Founder and Chief Executive Knut Vassbotn says the the energy technology is necessary for Norway to maintain its electricity surplus in the years to come.
