California calls five victors in floating wind auction

RWE, Equinor, CIP, Ocean Winds and Invenergy successfully exited the state’s auction for floating wind development rights along the Californian coastline – with 8GW more in store.

A total of 43 players prequalified to bid in California’s auction for five floating wind areas. Although in the end only five participants remained – and paid a total of USD 757m for rights to develop as much as 8.1GW.
