”Trustful agreement negotiations look different. The Danish wind turbine manucfacturer has repeatedly withdrawn offers and promises. It does not meet our expectations for a reliable negotiations liaison when an offer is retracted from one day to another,” says Martin Bitter, who leads IG Metall’s negotiations with Vestas.

After two months of discussions, IG Metall has now left the negotiations and thus threatens with new strikes from 1,700 employees that work for Vestas in Germany.

The industrial stoppage from the German employees was paused in March. Back then, both parties were optimistic towards finding a solution.

According to Danish newspaper JydskeVestkysten, Vestas states it has extended ”generous” offers that IG Metall has then rejected.

The strife regarding the collective agreement between the two parties has lasted about a year with repeated strikes from the employees.
