Vestas announced four orders during Easter totaling 800MW
Easter Friday saw four order announcements from wind turbine manufacturer Vestas, including a large one from the US for 554 megawatts.
The US order is for 123 V163-4.5MW turbines. The name of the customer and project are not disclosed, but the agreement also includes a multi-year service agreement.
Turbine deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
Vestas has also won an 81MW contract in Italy from developer Edison Rinnovabili for various wind farms. It will use 18 V136-4.5MW turbines and the parties have agreed to a ten-year service agreement.
An order of 77MW was also received from South Korea on Friday. The sender is GS E&R, which has ordered 18 turbines with an output of 4.3MW for the YD1 wind farm.
Friday’s fourth order came Swedish developer Eolus for the Fågelås, Boarp and Dållebo projects. The contract includes turbines with an output of 6.4MW, 6.2MW and 4.5MW. A long service contract has also been signed here.
With the last four orders secured, Vestas reached an announced order intake in the first quarter of 1,503MW.
This was a somewhat more subdued order intake than the record level in the fourth quarter of 2023, where the announced order intake ended at 6,945MW, to which could be added a sum of unannounced orders of 1,303MW.
Vestas will disclose the unannounced first-quarter orders in its next quarterly report.
