
The largest wind merger to date is almost ready. Wind turbine manufacturers Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa are merging to create a giant with an order catalogue amounting to more than EUR 20 billion, and revenue of EUR 10.8 billion, and which has even launched its own website. And everything is on schedule, says CEO of Offshore Wind at Siemens Wind Power Michael Hannibal.
"We have previously said that it would be good to have the merger ready for April," said the executive Thursday at the wind industry's annual meeting in Aarhus, Denmark, noting that Gamesa's shareholders, Spanish authorities, and the competitions authorities have given a nod to the merger.
